FLASH….AH-AH, SAVIOUR OF YOUR ROOF!

August, the last month of Winter.

By this point of the rainy season, you would likely be aware of any rainwater that is leaking through your roof. This could be occurring due to one or more of several different penetrations in your roof. The likely solution to this? Custom made roof flashing.

Roof flashing is a thin, flat sheet metal product, generally made of folded COLORBOND® and ZINCALUME® steel, designed and installed to redirect water from weaknesses in your structure to your rainwater system i.e. your guttering.

Colorbond Flashings & Box Gutters

These weaknesses in your structure can include holes in the surface of your roof for elements such as chimneys, skylights, flues, and vents.  Weaknesses also occur in joins between roofs and gutters, walls, and window and door frames.

All the above examples may not be sealable with sealants alone and may require flashing, specifically designed, and installed at strategic points in the roof to create a more weather-resistant structure.

By far the most common material used for flashing is sheet metal particularly COLORBOND® and ZINCALUME® steel.  COLORBOND® Steel Flashing and ZINCALUME® Steel Flashing can be customized in shape to fit within the structure of the roof, while still being rigid enough to provide an impervious barrier to rainwater.

Given that no two roofs are exactly alike, custom made flashing with the ability to fully customize the shape and size of roof flashing is crucial to ensure an effective and efficient installation.

At Roofing Options Centre, we provide custom made flashing to suit your needs.  Made onsite at our Campbellfield manufacturing plant, we manufacture custom made flashing up to 8m long and 1.2m wide.

Our custom flashing come in the full range of COLORBOND® Steel colours, including ZINCALUME® Steel, and are generally produced within a two day turn around.
